○ Am I able to reproduce written material from this website?
Only with permission of the relevant copyright holders. In many cases, this is Haydonning Ltd - the company which holds the copyright for works on this site by Alan Ayckbourn. If you would like to reproduce material by Alan Ayckbourn or which is copyright of Haydonning Ltd, you must seek permission first by contacting Simon Murgatroyd. Please note, action will be taken against copyright infringement particularly if it is related to a commercial venture (such as the programme / playbill for a production).
Any other material - including images - is the copyright of the respective creator / author / organisation and permission to reproduce must be sought from these relevant bodies.

No. All images are copyrighted to the respective organisations or individuals (generally named within the image). As a result, they should not be reprinted or stored in any format without express permission from the organisation or individual which holds the copyright. ○ Surely anything on the internet is in the public domain and can be reproduced regardless?
The internet is not public domain, it is a publishing medium to which copyright laws apply. Copyright applies to all material published on the internet - be it photographs, articles or any other creative endeavour - and is subject to the same laws. It is a common - and dangerous - fallacy that the internet is public domain and one that will not hold up if legal action is taken by copyright holders.
○ What is the procedure for reproducing material from the website?
Please submit your enquiry to the Archivist, Simon Murgatroyd, via the Contact / Enquiries page. If permission is granted to reproduce the requested material, the Archivist will email a confirmation with details regarding the material and how it may be reproduced. If you agree to these, then a license for usage will be issued and a pdf or jpg image of the material sent. This licensed material must be utilised rather than cutting and pasting material from this website, which will break the terms of the license and usage. The copyright holder reserves the right to terminate the license and withdraw reproduction rights at any time.
